At PERON Automotive, our Stage 1 ECU and TCU calibration package for the BMW B58-powered M140i and 440i is the result of extensive development both in-house and with our global partners. The B58 engine offers an excellent base, and our calibration enhances its performance while maintaining the refined, OEM-like driveability that makes these models so enjoyable.

Performance and Driveability

Our B58 Stage 1 calibration raises power from stock to 420hp-435hp and torque from stock to 455lb-ft – 470lb-ft on 99 RON fuel, delivering stronger mid-range pull and improved top-end performance. The calibration has been engineered for smooth torque delivery and excellent throttle control, making it equally at home on the daily commute or the weekend blast.

ZF8 Gearbox Calibration via xHP

To complement the ECU calibration, we also provide a TCU tune using xHP software, specifically tailored for the ZF8 automatic transmission. This transforms shift behaviour with:

• Faster, more responsive gear changes

• Optimised torque converter lock-up

• Improved shift logic in manual and sport modes

• Raised torque limits for tuned power levels

The result is a gearbox that feels sharper, more intuitive, and fully in sync with the upgraded engine performance.

Fuel Requirements

The Stage 1 tune is optimised for 99 RON fuel, though it remains compatible with 97–98 RON. It delivers performance gains without compromising fuel economy or daily usability.
